Mildura Health Private Hospital has agreements with the majority of major health funds. We are committed to ensuring that you are informed about your financial obligations regarding your admission. Depending on your level of health insurance you may be responsible for out of pocket costs. Before your admission we will contact your health fund to confirm your level of cover and will make every effort to provide you with an estimate of any costs before the service is provided. In the event of unforeseen circumstances additional costs may apply and the hospital will confirm these details with you at the earliest opportunity. You are required to pay your hospital out of pocket costs on admission. The hospital will claim the portion of your account that is covered by your insurance directly from your health fund.
A number of other costs including mobile telephone, long distance phone calls incidental costs such as magazines and some pharmacy items are not covered by health insurance. We will provide you with an account which is payable upon discharge.
Mildura Health Fund has no out of pocket agreements with a number of Surgeons and Specialists visiting Mildura Health Private Hospital therefore we recommend that you discuss with your Doctor and Anaesthetist potential costs prior to your admission. A list of Mildura Health Private Hospital No Gap providers can be found on Mildura Health Fund website www.mildurahealthfund.com.au You may also have out of pocket costs for other services which include radiology and MRI. Mildura Health Private Hospital recommends Ambulance Victoria membership as in some instances ambulance costs will be the patients responsibility.
